![]() (And yes, I know, Geneforge 6 is never going to happen.) One way this could have pleased everyone is if this were Geneforge 6, because it may as well be a brand new game. The extreme departure from the original mechanics, while some may find refreshing and a quality addition to the series, are a big negative to the value of this title as a remaster in my opinion. Though I will still be purchasing this title at some point, it won't be the instant buy I assumed it would be. I was excited for this project with the assumption of getting the original experience with the benefit of modern systems and improved graphics. Completely different creations in place of originals (Volatile Thahd instead of Thahd Shade) New stat controlling essence, instead of being to do with Int. No longer is there any control over your character creation except picking one of the three shaper castes and a name. ![]() No longer can you guarantee your creations will obey you with 2 int, or indeed control your creations stats directly at all. Immediately it's obvious that the entire game mechanics have been changed, and as much as I like the idea of having customizable abilities on the creations, the original systems have been completely gutted and replaced instead of being expanded upon. That said, this is not so much a remaster as a total re-imagining of the original game, aside from the story and the fact that it's an isometric rpg. I really like the updated engine, graphics, UI, and ability to run the game properly on new systems. I understand many will like the changes in their entirety.
